The charm of Onar Seaside Lounge is palpable from the moment the evening light softens the coastline, casting gentle reflections across the water. Conversations at nearby tables weave with the distant sounds of waves, creating a relaxed and inviting ambiance. The blend of modern and rustic décor complements the natural setting without overwhelming it, inviting diners to settle in comfortably while enjoying attentive, but unobtrusive service. Exploring the menu here reveals a thoughtful selection that emphasizes local ingredients, though some dishes on the Onar Seaside Lounge + menu might feel familiar to seasoned visitors of the region’s dining scene. Despite this, the freshness and presentation help elevate the experience beyond the expected.
One can’t help but notice the variety of tempting options when browsing photos shared from recent visits, which paint a vivid picture of carefully plated seafood alongside vibrant salads. Certain standouts such as grilled octopus and slow-cooked lamb highlight a well-calibrated kitchen focused on balancing bold flavors with subtle seasoning. Reviews found across travel and dining platforms echo sentiments of satisfaction, often praising the harmonious atmosphere as much as the food itself. The restaurant’s casual elegance makes it suitable for both a leisurely meal and a spontaneous stop, though some might find the pace of service inconsistent during busier hours. Value aligns reasonably with the quality offered, a factor that keeps the venue solidly in the favorable tier for coastal dining.
Venturing beyond just the cuisine, the overall experience at Onar Seaside Lounge brings a sense of place that is hard to replicate purely through food photographs or written accounts. The interplay of natural breeze and the faint salty air enhances every bite, lending a unique sensory dimension that reviews occasionally overlook. While the setting encourages relaxation, it does not shy away from maintaining a certain sophistication reflected in both the staff's knowledge and the curated wine list. There is a subtle balance here between accessibility and something more carefully cultivated, which allows the restaurant to hold its own amid the region’s competitive dining landscape without pretense or unnecessary complexity.

Onar is an absolute gem! A brand new beach club with an incredible atmosphere – stylish, relaxed, and full of good vibes. For now, sunbeds are free (yes, really!), and the quality of everything is just top-notch. The food? Outstanding. We had some of the best sushi ever, and the freddo cappuccino was honestly the best I’ve had in Crete. It has everything you could want from a beach club – and the prices are surprisingly affordable for the level of service and quality they offer. We loved it so much, we went twice! The only thing to keep in mind: the music can get quite loud at times. The DJ plays great tracks, but it can make chatting a bit tricky. That said, it didn’t bother us – we were too busy enjoying the moment. A must-visit if you’re in the area!
The experience at Onar has been amazing. They have different pricing based on where you want to sit and how much you want to spend in consumption. The music is nice through the day. The food is good. The coffee is good also. The cocktails not so much. The prices are normal for the place. The beach is super nice, calm and without waves. The waiters are responsive and very fast. There is a golf cart from parking lot to the beach. Overall great experience.
This truly is a nice beach bar! A very nice location and a small but nice beach. We did not have a reservation and were pretty late (around 15:00) so the only option was a sofa with a minimum consumption spending of €300. We were with 5 persons so this was fine by us. The waiters were also pretty fast for the amount of people there were at the beach bar. And we had some nice conversations and laughs with them. The prices were also relatively good, so the €300 was not too easy to get to (which was nice!). The only downside maybe was that the music in certain parts was a bit too loud so sometimes we had to talk louder. Would recommend this beach bar! Also you can park your car a bit further and there is a guy that brings you to the beach bar so you do not have to walk that!
