About Onar Seaside Lounge

The charm of Onar Seaside Lounge is palpable from the moment the evening light softens the coastline, casting gentle reflections across the water. Conversations at nearby tables weave with the distant sounds of waves, creating a relaxed and inviting ambiance. The blend of modern and rustic décor complements the natural setting without overwhelming it, inviting diners to settle in comfortably while enjoying attentive, but unobtrusive service. Exploring the menu here reveals a thoughtful selection that emphasizes local ingredients, though some dishes on the Onar Seaside Lounge + menu might feel familiar to seasoned visitors of the region’s dining scene. Despite this, the freshness and presentation help elevate the experience beyond the expected.

One can’t help but notice the variety of tempting options when browsing photos shared from recent visits, which paint a vivid picture of carefully plated seafood alongside vibrant salads. Certain standouts such as grilled octopus and slow-cooked lamb highlight a well-calibrated kitchen focused on balancing bold flavors with subtle seasoning. Reviews found across travel and dining platforms echo sentiments of satisfaction, often praising the harmonious atmosphere as much as the food itself. The restaurant’s casual elegance makes it suitable for both a leisurely meal and a spontaneous stop, though some might find the pace of service inconsistent during busier hours. Value aligns reasonably with the quality offered, a factor that keeps the venue solidly in the favorable tier for coastal dining.

Venturing beyond just the cuisine, the overall experience at Onar Seaside Lounge brings a sense of place that is hard to replicate purely through food photographs or written accounts. The interplay of natural breeze and the faint salty air enhances every bite, lending a unique sensory dimension that reviews occasionally overlook. While the setting encourages relaxation, it does not shy away from maintaining a certain sophistication reflected in both the staff's knowledge and the curated wine list. There is a subtle balance here between accessibility and something more carefully cultivated, which allows the restaurant to hold its own amid the region’s competitive dining landscape without pretense or unnecessary complexity.

One of the best beach bars! I have nothing negative to say. The service is exceptional, the food and drinks are very nice, the atmosphere beautiful, crystal clear water if not windy. 10/10 Worth the money and we didn’t find it expensive at all.

Absolutely loved our experience here — by far the best beach club we visited during our time in Greece. The atmosphere was relaxed and refined, the setting was stunning, and the service and food were exceptional. After being disappointed with Cabana Mare the day before, this was exactly the kind of elevated, pampering experience we were hoping for. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in Chania — it truly stands out.

we hand no reservation, waited 30min on the bar and got seated. the stuff was very nice, food was delicious, music always good. Ambiente was stunning, everything in beige-style eben the dresscode of the stuff. everything was clean - we got towels too. no long waiting for the order and prices were also good. we paid 30€per person for one umbrella and two sunbeds (the 30€ was to spend on drinks and food also). we would definitely come again

The experience at Onar has been amazing. They have different pricing based on where you want to sit and how much you want to spend in consumption. The music is nice through the day. The food is good. The coffee is good also. The cocktails not so much. The prices are normal for the place. The beach is super nice, calm and without waves. The waiters are responsive and very fast. There is a golf cart from parking lot to the beach. Overall great experience.

This truly is a nice beach bar! A very nice location and a small but nice beach. We did not have a reservation and were pretty late (around 15:00) so the only option was a sofa with a minimum consumption spending of €300. We were with 5 persons so this was fine by us. The waiters were also pretty fast for the amount of people there were at the beach bar. And we had some nice conversations and laughs with them. The prices were also relatively good, so the €300 was not too easy to get to (which was nice!). The only downside maybe was that the music in certain parts was a bit too loud so sometimes we had to talk louder. Would recommend this beach bar! Also you can park your car a bit further and there is a guy that brings you to the beach bar so you do not have to walk that!

1. First Impressions – A Stylish Seaside Gem Onar Seaside Lounge is an absolute hidden gem on the Cretan coast. A brand-new beach club, it strikes the perfect balance between stylish sophistication and relaxed, easygoing vibes. The atmosphere is vibrant yet welcoming, making it just as suitable for a laid-back afternoon of lounging as it is for a lively beachside hangout with friends or family. A true Bohemian vibe. From the moment you arrive, you’re met with thoughtful touches: free parking and a golf cart service that whisks you to the beach club, making the experience seamless from the very start. 2. Lounge Experience – Comfort Meets Value One of the standout aspects of Onar is the sunbed and lounge setup. For now, booking a sun bed or lounge comes with a very reasonable minimum consumption of €50 per person. This easily covers drinks and food, and feels like great value considering the quality on offer. During my visit, I ordered a fruit platter, a cappuccino, two Paloma cocktails, and a tequila shot—all beautifully presented and delicious. The setup is comfortable and chic, designed to let you relax while enjoying sweeping sea views that are nothing short of spectacular. 3. Dining – Culinary Excellence by the Sea Food at Onar is an experience in itself. The influence of Chef Lefteris Lazarou, a Michelin-starred Greek chef, is unmistakable. Each dish is crafted with artistry, freshness, and attention to detail. 4. Atmosphere – Vibrant with Great Vibes The atmosphere at Onar is both stylish and full of good energy. The music from the live DJ sets creates a fun, upbeat environment—perfect for those who enjoy a lively beach club scene. The tracks were excellent, but it’s worth noting that the volume can get quite loud at times, which may make casual conversation tricky. For me, it only added to the vibe, but guests looking for total peace and quiet should keep this in mind. 5. Service – Room for Improvement While the overall experience was incredible, the service did have some shortcomings. During my Friday visit in August—a peak period—the staff were clearly stretched thin. I struggled at times to get a waiter’s attention, which interrupted the otherwise seamless experience. This may be part of the natural teething issues of a brand-new venue, and I believe it will improve as the team grows and settles into the rhythm of high-season demand. 6. Value – Luxury Without the Hefty Price Tag For the quality of the experience, Onar offers fantastic value. I found Onar to be a far better option than paying over €400 for a similar setup at the JW Marriott in Crete, where beach access was pretty difficult. Here, you get world-class food, chic amenities, and stunning views at a fraction of the cost. 7. Final Thoughts Onar Seaside Lounge is one of those rare places that blends high-end luxury with approachable, good-value hospitality. With its stylish, Bohemian design, breathtaking views, Michelin-level dining, and vibrant atmosphere, it is already establishing itself as one of Crete’s best beach clubs. Yes, the service has some room for improvement during busy hours, but this feels like a minor hiccup I am sure they will fix. I will be back and hope to rate this a 5 next time!

Onar is an absolute gem! A brand new beach club with an incredible atmosphere – stylish, relaxed, and full of good vibes. For now, sunbeds are free (yes, really!), and the quality of everything is just top-notch. The food? Outstanding. We had some of the best sushi ever, and the freddo cappuccino was honestly the best I’ve had in Crete. It has everything you could want from a beach club – and the prices are surprisingly affordable for the level of service and quality they offer. We loved it so much, we went twice! The only thing to keep in mind: the music can get quite loud at times. The DJ plays great tracks, but it can make chatting a bit tricky. That said, it didn’t bother us – we were too busy enjoying the moment. A must-visit if you’re in the area!

TLDR: specular food (try set menu), amazing staff, and incredible views. I’m not a photographer so the pictures don’t do the food and aesthetics of the venue justice. Simply a wonderful experience. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by friendly faces and are taken aback by an incredible view. The food was nothing short of great. I highly recommend trying one of the set menus: you are able to try a curated and diverse selection of food which is guaranteed to leave you full and fulfilled. The servers were very attentive and the chefs were very accommodating of our group (we had a dairy allergy). I would highly recommend making the time to visit and try Onar. Thank you!
